Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs how you may use Biller.ca (the "Service"). It forms part of, and is subject to, our Terms of Service, and capitalized terms have the meaning given there. This AUP applies to you and to anyone who accesses the Service through your account.

1. General

You may use the Service only for lawful business purposes and in accordance with the Terms of Service and this AUP. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

2. Prohibited Activities

You must not, and must not permit anyone else to:

  • use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law;
  • use the Service to facilitate fraud, money laundering, or any other financial crime;
  • forward emails that are not genuine Interac e-Transfer notifications, or attempt to create false or misleading payment records;
  • infringe the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of any person;
  • upload or transmit malicious code, or otherwise interfere with, disrupt, or overload the Service or its infrastructure;
  • attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other users' data, or any related systems, or probe, scan, or circumvent our security measures;
  • access the Service through automated means, or scrape or bulk-extract data, except through our API as we expressly permit;
  • reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service, except to the extent applicable law prohibits this restriction;
  • resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without our written permission;
  • use the Service to send spam or unsolicited messages, or to contact your clients in violation of anti-spam or privacy laws;
  • store or process personal information in the Service without the authority and consents required by law (see Section 3); or
  • impersonate any person, or harass, abuse, or threaten us, our staff, or any other person through the Service.

3. Your Clients' Information

You are responsible for having the legal right and any required consents to collect and store your clients' personal information in Biller and to have us process it on your behalf, as described in our Data Processing Agreement and Privacy Policy.

4. Enforcement

We are not obligated to monitor use of the Service, but we may do so. Where you are found to be in breach of this AUP or the Terms of Service, we may, at our sole discretion and without prior notice, remove content, throttle or restrict your use, suspend or terminate your account, and end our business relationship with you. We may also report suspected illegal activity to law enforcement or other authorities. We are not liable for any action taken in connection with enforcing this AUP, and your sole and exclusive remedy in respect of the Service remains as set out in our Terms of Service.

5. Reporting Abuse

If you believe someone is using the Service in violation of this AUP, please contact us at support@biller.ca.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this AUP from time to time at our discretion. When we do, we will post the updated policy on this page and revise the "Last updated" date. You are responsible for reviewing this policy and our other legal pages periodically for updates.
