Coast Capital Savings is a federally regulated credit union with branches in Metro Vancouver, the Fraser Valley, Vancouver Island and the Okanagan. If you searched for its Interac e-Transfer limit, here is the straight answer: Coast Capital does not publish one. Its help pages, fee schedule and Everyday Banking Guide list e-Transfer fees, but no sending limits.
That doesn't leave you guessing. Below is how to see your actual limit in about 30 seconds, what the limit is likely to be, what sending costs, and what to do if it's too low.
In this guide
Coast Capital Interac e-Transfer Limits
Coast Capital publishes no per-transfer, daily, weekly or monthly e-Transfer sending limit for personal accounts. The only transfer limit it does publish is for moving money between Coast Capital memberships (not e-Transfers): $10,000 a day.
How to find your limit in 30 seconds
- Open Coast Online Banking or the Coast Mobile Banking app.
- Start an Interac e-Transfer as though you were going to send one.
- Look at the amount screen. Your available limit usually shows there, before you confirm anything.
- Back out. Nothing is sent until you confirm.
You can also call Coast Capital at 1-888-517-7000 (604-517-7000 in Metro Vancouver, 250-483-7000 in Greater Victoria) and ask.
What it's likely to be
Most Canadian credit unions run on shared banking platforms and keep the same defaults: $3,000 per transfer, $10,000 per rolling 7 days and $20,000 per rolling 30 days. We explain why in credit union e-Transfer limits. Treat that as a starting assumption for Coast Capital, not a confirmed figure. Before sending a large payment that can't afford to bounce, check the amount screen first.
Receiving is different: you can accept up to $25,000 per transfer, the cap Interac applies across the whole network.
| Limit Type | Personal | Business |
|---|---|---|
| Per Transfer | — | — |
| Daily | — | — |
| Weekly (7 days) | — | — |
| Monthly (30 days) | — | — |
| Receiving (per transfer) | $25,000 | |
Limits shown are defaults for standard accounts and may vary by account type. Dash (—) means the bank does not publish a separate limit for that period. Last verified March 2026.
Coast Capital e-Transfer Fees
Coast Capital publishes its e-Transfer fees clearly:
- Unlimited Chequing ($8.50 a month, waivable) and Elevate Chequing ($16.95 a month): e-Transfers are free to send and receive.
- Free Chequing, Free Debit and More Account (no monthly fee): $1.50 per e-Transfer sent, including sending a request for money.
- High-Interest Savings Account: $1.50 per e-Transfer sent.
Receiving an e-Transfer is free on every account. If you send more than about six e-Transfers a month from the Free Chequing account, the $8.50 Unlimited Chequing account works out cheaper, and its fee is waived entirely if you're 59 or older, 25 or younger, or keep a $4,000 minimum daily balance.

Can You Increase Your Coast Capital e-Transfer Limit?
Coast Capital doesn't publish a way to raise it, and doesn't say that it can't. The only way to find out is to ask: call 1-888-517-7000 or visit a branch with your ID. Credit unions often have more room to adjust a member's caps than big banks do, but that's a general pattern, not a Coast Capital policy.
If the answer is no, the usual routes apply:
- Spread the payment across the rolling windows. Split it and send the rest once the window clears.
- Send a wire transfer. Coast Capital charges $30 for an outgoing wire to another Canadian institution.
- Use bill payment if the person you're paying is set up as a payee.
- Open a business account if you're paying suppliers or contractors.

Coast Capital Interac e-Transfer Not Working
When a Coast Capital e-Transfer won't go through, check these first:
- You've reached your limit. Because the limit isn't published, this is easy to hit without warning. The amount screen shows what's left in the current window.
- A typo in the recipient's email or phone number. Check it and send again.
- The recipient's Autodeposit is registered elsewhere. The money goes to the account their email or phone number is registered to, which may not be the one you expect.
- An Interac service issue. Outages hit every institution at once; wait and try again.
How Long Does a Coast Capital e-Transfer Take?
Coast Capital says it can take up to 30 minutes for the recipient to be notified. If the recipient has Autodeposit set up, the money goes straight into their account without a security question. Without it, the recipient has to accept the transfer before the money moves.

Get Started FreeHow to Cancel a Coast Capital e-Transfer
You can cancel an e-Transfer only if the recipient hasn't accepted it yet:
- Sign in to Coast Online Banking or the Coast Mobile app.
- Go to Interac e-Transfers, then Pending e-Transfers.
- Select the trash icon next to the transfer.
If the recipient uses Autodeposit, the money is deposited as soon as it arrives, so there is nothing left to cancel. Ask them to send it back. And if anyone is rushing you to pay by e-Transfer, read up on e-Transfer scams before you send.
Coast Capital Business e-Transfer Limits
Coast Capital doesn't publish business e-Transfer limits either. If you take client payments by e-Transfer, ask for the figures when you open a business account. As a reference point, Steinbach Credit Union, one of the few that publishes business limits, allows $10,000 per business transfer, more than triple its personal cap. See business e-Transfer limits by bank.
Keeping business payments in a business account also helps with tax: once your revenue passes $30,000 in four consecutive calendar quarters, you have to register for GST/HST. Our GST/HST guide for small businesses covers when and how.
How Coast Capital Compares to Other Banks
On limits, Coast Capital is harder to compare than institutions that publish their numbers. Its BC neighbour Vancity publishes $6,000 per transfer and $10,000 per rolling 7 days. On fees, Coast Capital's $1.50 per transfer on its no-fee account is on the high side; at RBC, TD and BMO, personal chequing accounts include e-Transfers.
