ICICI Bank Canada is a Schedule II bank — a Canadian subsidiary of India's ICICI Bank, regulated here by OSFI and covered by CDIC. It is a small player by branch count, but it has the single most useful e-Transfer number in the country: $10,000 in one transaction.
Every Big Five bank stops a personal e-Transfer at $3,000. ICICI Bank Canada does not. If you have ever had to split a payment into four transfers across two days, that difference is the whole story.
In this guide
ICICI Bank Canada Interac e-Transfer Limits
ICICI Bank Canada publishes a clear four-tier structure for personal accounts: $10,000 per transaction, $10,000 per day, $70,000 per rolling 7-day period, and $300,000 per rolling 30-day period.
Read that daily number carefully. The per-transaction cap and the daily cap are the same figure, which means one maximum-size transfer consumes your entire day's allowance. You cannot send $10,000 and then another $2,000 an hour later.
The weekly and monthly ceilings, on the other hand, are extraordinarily high — $70,000 a week is more than seven times what TD allows and more than most banks permit in a month.
| Limit Type | Personal | Business |
|---|---|---|
| Per Transfer | $10,000 | $10,000 |
| Daily | $10,000 | — |
| Weekly (7 days) | $70,000 | — |
| Monthly (30 days) | $300,000 | — |
| Receiving (per transfer) | $25,000 | |
Limits shown are defaults for standard accounts and may vary by account type. Dash (—) means the bank does not publish a separate limit for that period. Last verified March 2026.
When the daily limit resets
ICICI Bank Canada resets the daily limit 24 hours after the transfer was initiated, not at midnight. The bank's own example: initiate a $10,000 transfer at 10:00 a.m. today, and you can initiate the next one from 10:01 a.m. tomorrow.
This is worth knowing because it cuts both ways. If you send late in the evening, you are locked out until late the following evening — a midnight-reset bank would have freed you up in a couple of hours. If you need to send on two consecutive mornings, send early.
ICICI Bank Canada e-Transfer Fees
There are none. ICICI Bank Canada charges no service fee to send an Interac e-Transfer, no fee to receive one, and no fee to reclaim a transfer the recipient has not yet deposited.
That last one is less common than it sounds. RBC charges $5.00 to reclaim a transfer after 15 days, and ATB charges $3.00 to cancel one at all. At ICICI Bank Canada, changing your mind is free.
Tip for small business owners
A $10,000 per-transaction cap covers most single invoices a service business will ever issue. Turn on Autodeposit so client payments land without a security question, and reconcile them against the invoice they paid.

Can You Increase Your ICICI Bank Canada e-Transfer Limit?
No, and in practice you are unlikely to want to. ICICI Bank Canada's personal caps are already the highest published in Canada, so there is no higher tier to request.
If you genuinely need to move more than $10,000 at once, the options are the same as anywhere else:
- Send across two days. The rolling 24-hour reset means $20,000 over two mornings is straightforward, and well inside the $70,000 weekly ceiling.
- Use a wire transfer for a single large amount. See e-Transfer vs wire transfer for the cost comparison.
- Use a business account. ICICI Bank Canada offers Bulk Interac e-Transfer for business customers, covered below.
For the general playbook, see how to send more than your e-Transfer limit.
ICICI Bank Canada e-Transfer Not Working
The usual causes, in the order they are most likely:
- You are inside the 24-hour window. This is the most common one at ICICI Bank Canada specifically, because the daily and per-transaction limits are identical. One full-size transfer blocks the next for a full day from the send time.
- The recipient's email or phone number has a typo. Nothing bounces; the transfer simply sits unclaimed.
- The recipient has Autodeposit at another bank. The funds route there automatically and the security question is ignored.
- Autodeposit registration is full. ICICI Bank Canada allows a maximum of five email addresses per customer profile.
- Account restrictions on a new profile. Call ICICI Bank Canada at 1-888-424-2422.
- The notification looks suspicious. Do not click it. Check it against the real Interac sender domains first.
How Long Does an ICICI Bank Canada e-Transfer Take?
With Autodeposit on the receiving end, minutes. Without it, the recipient answers a security question and the transfer stays available for 30 days before expiring and returning to you.

- Log in to ICICI Bank Canada online banking or the iMobile app.
- Find the pending transfer and select Reclaim.
- The funds return to your account. There is no fee.

ICICI Bank Canada Business e-Transfer Limits
ICICI Bank Canada offers Bulk Interac e-Transfer for business customers, which sends many transfers from a single uploaded file instead of one at a time. The bank positions it as a cheaper replacement for cheque runs and wire batches. Per-account limits are set individually, so contact your business banking representative for your numbers.

How ICICI Bank Canada Compares to Other Banks
On per-transaction limit, ICICI Bank Canada is simply in a different class. RBC, TD, CIBC, BMO, and Scotiabank all cap a single personal e-Transfer at $3,000. EQ Bank and Desjardins reach $5,000. ICICI Bank Canada allows $10,000.
Where it gives ground is the daily ceiling. RBC allows $10,000 a day spread across multiple transfers, and Wealthsimple can be raised to $25,000 a day in-app. ICICI Bank Canada's $10,000 day is one transfer and then you are done. Pick based on whether your problem is one big payment or many medium ones.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the ICICI Bank Canada Interac e-Transfer limit?
$10,000 per transaction and $10,000 per day, $70,000 over a rolling 7-day period, and $300,000 over a rolling 30-day period. The $10,000 per-transaction cap is the highest published personal e-Transfer limit of any Canadian financial institution — most banks stop at $3,000.
Does ICICI Bank Canada really allow $10,000 in one e-Transfer?
Yes. Where RBC, TD, and CIBC cap a single personal e-Transfer at $3,000, ICICI Bank Canada allows $10,000 in one transaction. The daily ceiling is also $10,000, so that one transfer uses the whole day's allowance.
Are ICICI Bank Canada e-Transfers free?
Yes. There is no service charge to send an Interac e-Transfer, no charge to receive one, and no fee to reclaim a transfer the recipient has not yet deposited.
When does the ICICI Bank Canada daily limit reset?
24 hours after the transfer was initiated, not at midnight. If you send $10,000 at 10:00 a.m., you can send again from 10:01 a.m. the following day.
How much can I receive from ICICI Bank Canada?
$25,000 per incoming Interac e-Transfer. You can register up to five email addresses for Autodeposit on one customer profile.
Does ICICI Bank Canada offer business e-Transfers?
Yes. ICICI Bank Canada offers Bulk Interac e-Transfer for business customers, which sends many transfers from one file rather than one at a time. Contact your business banking representative for the limits applied to your account.
