Business profile

Your business details fill in your booking page and invoices. Keep them accurate so every invoice goes out right the first time.

Business settings vs. your account

Biller keeps two kinds of settings:

  • Settings (in the sidebar) are for the business you're working in: its name, invoicing and tax details, and email settings. If you run more than one business, each has its own.
  • Account (click your name at the bottom of the sidebar) is about you: your name, timezone, login, security, and plan.

Business name and type

Go to Settings > Business:

  • Business name is what clients see on your booking page and invoices. Edit it and click Save.
  • Business type shows the type you picked during setup, which sets Biller's wording, client fields, and starter services. It can't be changed. To run a different kind of business, click Add another business.

Invoicing & tax details

Go to Settings > Invoicing & tax. The Seller profile section fills in this business's invoices:

Field What it does
Default currency The default currency on new invoices and manual payments
Address Your business address, shown as the seller address on invoices
Phone Your business phone number
GST/HST number Your CRA registration number. Only needed if you're registered for GST/HST.
Tax province Pre-fills the GST/HST rate on future invoices. Choose Custom to set your own Tax label and Tax rate.

Click Update invoicing to save. See Charging GST/HST on invoices for how tax is applied.

Invoice emails

Go to Settings > Email. Under Invoice emails:

  • Sender name is the name clients see when they get an invoice email from you
  • Reply-to address is where client replies to an invoice email go

This page also shows your e-Transfer Forwarding address. See Your forwarding address.

Your name and timezone

Click your name at the bottom of the sidebar to open Account > Profile. Under Preferences:

  • Your name is used in greetings and as the default seller name on invoices
  • Timezone sets how all dates and times are shown

Click Update profile to save. To change your login email, use Change email on the same page. Biller sends a confirmation link to the new address, and the change only takes effect once you click it.

Update your details before your next invoice
New invoices copy your business details when they're created, and you can still edit the seller details on each invoice. Changing your settings doesn't update invoices you've already created.

Where your details are used

  • Invoices and invoice PDFs show your name, business name, address, phone, and GST/HST number as the seller details
  • Your booking page shows your business name
  • Invoice emails use your sender name and reply-to address
