Invoice PDF not loading

If an invoice PDF is taking a long time to load or won't display at all, here are some things to try.

Why it might be slow

Invoice PDFs are generated by a rendering service and then cached for fast access on subsequent views. The first time you view or download a PDF, it needs to be generated, which can take a few seconds.

If the PDF seems to hang or take an unusually long time, it may be due to:

  • First-time generation -- the PDF hasn't been created yet and the rendering service is processing it
  • Temporary service load -- the rendering service may be handling a high volume of requests
  • Network issues -- a slow or unstable internet connection on your end

Regenerating a PDF

If a PDF won't load or appears to be stuck, you can force it to regenerate:

  1. Wait a moment and refresh the page -- the PDF may have finished generating in the background
  2. If refreshing doesn't help, edit the invoice and click Save -- this clears the cached PDF and triggers a fresh generation
  3. Try viewing or downloading the PDF again

In most cases, refreshing the page is enough. Editing and saving is the next step if the cached version seems stuck.

Still not working

If you've tried the steps above and the PDF still won't load:

  • Check your internet connection -- try loading other pages to make sure you're connected
  • Try a different browser -- some browser extensions can interfere with PDF rendering
  • Clear your browser cache and try again

If none of these resolve the issue, email us at help@biller.ca with the invoice number and we'll investigate.
