Creating an invoice
Turn any income entry into a professional invoice in a few clicks, with your business details and client information auto-filled.
From an income entry
Every income entry recorded by Biller can be turned into an invoice. From any income entry on your dashboard or income list, click the "Create Invoice" button.
This opens the invoice form with the amount and client details pre-populated from the income entry. You can review and adjust any fields before saving.
Invoice fields
Each invoice includes the following fields:
| Field | Details |
|---|---|
| Invoice number | Auto-generated sequentially (e.g. INV-0001). You can edit it if needed. |
| Amount | The payment amount, pre-filled from the income entry. |
| Currency | CAD by default, matching the income entry. |
| Tax amount | Optional. Add GST/HST if you are a registered collector. |
| Description | A brief description of the goods or services provided. |
| Seller info | Your business name, address, and GST/HST number (from your profile). |
| Purchaser info | Client name, address, and business number (from the client record). |
Auto-filled details
When you create an invoice, Biller automatically fills in two sets of details:
- Seller details -- your business name, address, and GST/HST registration number are copied from your Settings profile.
- Purchaser details -- the client's name is pre-filled from the income entry's sender. If you have a saved client record with additional details (address, business number), those are included too.
You can edit any of these fields on the invoice before saving.
Fill in your profile first
For the smoothest experience, complete your business profile in Settings before creating your first invoice. That way, your seller details will be ready to go every time.
