Set up auto-forwarding

Auto-forwarding sends your Interac e-Transfer notification emails to Biller automatically, so every payment is tracked without any manual work.

Gmail

  1. Open Gmail Settings. Open Gmail on your computer (filters cannot be created from the mobile app). Click the gear icon, then See all settings.
  2. Add forwarding address. Go to the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab, click Add a forwarding address, and enter the address below. Leave forwarding set to Disable forwarding and click Save Changes.

  3. Create a new filter. Switch to the Filters and Blocked Addresses tab, then click Create a new filter.
  4. Set the From field. In the From field, enter the Interac sender address, then click Create filter.

  5. Forward matching messages to Biller. Check Forward it to and select your Biller address from the dropdown. Click Create filter -- you are done.

Outlook

  1. Open Outlook Settings. Open Outlook on the web (outlook.live.com or outlook.office.com). Click the gear icon, then Mail, then Rules.
  2. Add a new rule. Click Add new rule and give it a descriptive name like Biller - Interac forwarding.
  3. Set condition "From". Under Add a condition, choose From and enter the Interac sender address.

  4. Set action "Forward to". Under Add an action, choose Forward to and paste your Biller address.

  5. Save the rule. Click Save to activate the rule -- you are done.

Yahoo

Auto-forwarding requires a paid Yahoo Mail Plus plan. On a free plan, you can manually forward each Interac notification instead.
  1. Open Yahoo Mail Settings. Click the gear icon, then More Settings.
  2. Go to Mailboxes. Select your primary mailbox account under Mailboxes.
  3. Set up auto-forwarding. Under Auto-forwarding, enter your Biller address.

  4. Verify the address. Click Verify and follow the confirmation instructions. Biller will accept the verification automatically.
  5. All set. Yahoo will forward all incoming mail. Biller only processes Interac e-Transfer notifications, so other mail is ignored.

Proton Mail

Auto-forwarding requires a paid Proton Mail plan. On a free plan, you can manually forward each Interac notification instead.
  1. Open Proton Mail Settings. Click the gear icon, then All settings.
  2. Go to "Auto-reply and forward". In the sidebar, click Proton Mail, then Auto-reply and forward.
  3. Add forwarding rule. Under Forward emails, click Add forwarding rule. Set Forward to to your Biller address.

  4. Add a sender condition. Click Add condition, select Sender contains, and enter the Interac sender address.

  5. Send confirmation. Click Next, then Send confirmation email. Biller will accept the confirmation automatically.

Fastmail

  1. Open Fastmail Settings. Click Settings (gear icon) in the bottom left.
  2. Go to Filters & Rules. Under Mail, click Filters & Rules.
  3. Create a new rule. Click Create rule, set From to the Interac sender address, click Continue, then Create rule.

  4. Set action "Send a copy to". Add a Send a copy to action and paste your Biller address.

iCloud

  1. Open iCloud Mail. Go to icloud.com/mail and sign in. iCloud Mail rules can only be configured from the web, not from the Mail app.
  2. Open Rules. Click the gear icon, select Settings, then click Rules.
  3. Add a rule. Click the + button and set is from to the Interac sender address.

Verify it works

After setting up your filter or rule, verify that forwarding is working correctly:

  1. Wait for your next Interac e-Transfer, or send yourself a small test transfer from another account
  2. Check your Biller dashboard -- the payment should appear within a few minutes
  3. You will also receive a confirmation email from Biller summarizing the recorded payment

If the payment does not appear, check that your filter is active and that the forwarding address is correct. You can also use the built-in test feature to confirm your setup -- see Send a test email for instructions.

Test your setup right away
You do not have to wait for a real e-Transfer. You can manually forward an existing Interac notification email to your Biller address at any time to confirm that everything is working. See Send a test email for details.
