Editing or deleting income
Made a mistake or need to update a record? You can edit any income entry at any time. Every change is tracked so you always have a complete history.
Editing an income entry
To edit an income entry:
- Navigate to Income from the main navigation, or find the entry on your dashboard
- Click the income entry you want to change -- this opens the detail view
- Click the Edit button
- Make your changes and click Save
To delete an entry, open the detail view and click Delete. You'll be asked to confirm before the entry is removed.
What you can change
The following fields can be edited on any income entry, whether it was created from a parsed email or added manually:
- Amount -- correct a misread amount or update a partial payment
- Client / sender name -- reassign the entry to a different client
- Notes -- add context, invoice numbers, or project references
- Service date range -- specify the period the work covered
- Currency -- change the currency for manual entries (e-Transfer entries remain CAD)
For e-Transfer income, the date and reference number are set from the original email and cannot be changed. For manual entries, the date is editable.
Audit trail
Every change to an income entry is recorded in an audit log. You can view the full history of edits from the entry's detail page by scrolling to the Activity section.
The audit trail captures:
- What was changed (the field name, old value, and new value)
- When the change was made
- Who made the change (relevant if you add team members in the future)
Deleted entries are soft-deleted, meaning they are removed from your dashboard and totals but can be recovered by contacting support within 30 days.
